Gianna is a native New Yorker and grew up in the Carroll Gardens section of Brooklyn. After graduating from American University with a degree in Musical Theater/Theater, she began her career in the D. C. Theater scene. She appeared in plays and musicals with Flying V Theatre, Adventure Theatre, Imagination Stage, Peter’s Alley Productions and the DC Capital Fringe Festival. In addition, Gianna was nominated by Broadway World for best actress in a musical for her role as Scully in “It’s the Rest of the Word that looks so Small.”
Growing up in NYC she was exposed to the arts at a young age. Gianna studied Vocal Performance at Fiorello LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and the Performing Arts. She also studied with Geoffrey Horne at the Lee Strasberg Acting Institute for Young Actors and attended the CAP21 Professional Program.
During college, Gianna spent a summer abroad studying with some of the best teachers including, Joseph Mydell, at the British American Drama Academy in Oxford.
Gianna is currently based in NYC, she recently appeared in a new play, “Family Show”, under the supervision of Lynn Nottage by Columbia University MFA playwright, Martin Murray.
